What is Adobe pagemaker?
Adobe pagemaker is a software application which is used to create PDF articles, visiting story editing and books publication etc.
Tools
1. Pointer Tool:-
This tool is called as pointer tool, which is used to select, move and resize text object and graphics.
2. Line Tool:-
This tool is called as line tool, which is used to draw straight line in any direction
3. Rectangle Tool:-
This tool is called rectangle tool which is used to draw square and rectangle
Note:-
To change corner style of draw rectangle square double click on rectangle tool and change the style.
4. Ellipse Tool:-
This tool is called as ellipse which is used to draw circle and ellipse.
5. Polygon Tool:-
This tool is called as polygon tool, which is used to draw polygon.
Note:-
To change the no of sides or star shape polygon double click the polygon button and select no of sides or star insert.
6. Hand Tool:-
This tool is called hand tool which is used to scroll the page or to preview or text hyperlink.
7. Text Tool:-
This tool is called text tool which is used to type the text select the text and edit the text.
8. Constrained Line Tool:-
This is called as constrained line tool which used to draw vertical or horizontal line.
9. Frame Tool:-
This tool is called as frame tool which is used to create placeholder shape
10. Zoom Tool:-
This tool is called as zoom tool which is used to magnify or reduce an area of the shape.
Menu Bar
Type Menu:-
This menu bar is used to apply different font style, type size, type style to give alignment, hyphenation and many more to the selected text.
1. Font:- This command is used to change and apply the different font to the selected text.
2. Size:- This commands is used to change the size of selected text.
3. Leading:- This command is used to give line space between select paragraph.
4. Type style:- This command is used to apply different styles on the selected text like bold, italic.
5. Expert kerning:- This command is used to automate kerning to give you tight control over letter space for headlines, poster type and other display type at large size.
Steps:-
- Select the text with text tool to be kerned
- Click on type menu
- Click on expert kerning
- Type the kern strength that you want PageMaker to use when creating kerning pair or use the slider bar to set the value
- Click on ok
6. Expert Tracking:- This command is used to give space between single character of selected text
7. Character (Ctrl+T):- This command is used to character formatting.
8. Paragraph (Ctrl+M):- This command is used to give indentation space between paragraph, alignment etc. to the selected paragraph.
9. Indent and Tabs:- Indents and tabs are powerful tools for positioning text. indent move text inward from the right and left edges of a text object and tab position text at a specific location in a text object you can create a left and right aligned tab. center tab (Which center around the tab) and decimal tab (Which aligned character at a decimal point) you can also apply a leader of any style to any tabs. A leader is a repeated pattern, such a series of dots or dashes, between the tab and the proceeding text.
Steps:-
- In a layout view, select the paragraph or text
- Click on type menu
- Click on indent/tabs
- Click a tab alignment icon (Left, right, center, or decimal) for the first tab you want to set
- Click a tab location on the rular to the position new tab or move an existing tab by dragging its marker along the rular
- If you want the tab leadered, select the tab and choose an option from the leader menu and then one or two character
- Click apply to preview the changes to your text
- Click on ok to accept the changes
10. Hyphenation:- This command is used to control several aspect of at a hyphenation paragraph and paragraph style level. Hyphen sign is not applicable in justified text.
11. Style:- PageMaker make it easy to create and edit style for your publication. if the style you want already exits, either in another pagemaker publication or in file created in a word processing application, you can import those style for use in your current publication.
12. Defined style:- This command is used to create your own styles.
-Steps:-
- Click on type menu
- Click on define style
- Click on new style
- Click on paragraph or character to create your style
- Click on ok
Note:- To apply the style , select the text or paragraph , then go to type menu, click on style and then click on style name.
13. Alignment:- With this option we can give alignment in our selected object.
I. Align Left (Shift+Ctrl+L)
II. Align Center (Shift+Ctrl+C)
III. Align Right (Shift+Ctrl+R)
IV. Align Justify (Shift+Ctrl+J)
V. Force Center (Shift+Ctrl+F)
Element Menu
1. Fill:- This option is used to apply different fill colour to different cell within
the same table or any selected object.

change the width of the line drawn with the drawing tools and the width of borders around rectangles, ellipse and polygons.

3. Fill and Stroke (Ctrl+U):- With this option we can do both (fill colour

Note:- You can apply space, called an insert button the text and the boundary of the frame. you can also align text vertically between a text frames top and bottom boundaries.
5. Arrange:- This option is used to change the order of selected object.

6. Align Object (Shift +Ctrl+E):- With the helps of this commands we can give alignment between two selected object horizontally or vertically.

7. Lock position (Ctrl+L):- With the helps of this command we can lock
the object position after that we can not do any changes to the object.

11. Mask (Ctrl+6):- It is the way of covering part of an objects so that only
a portion of it appear through a shape drawn with the rectangle ellipse or polygon tool.

12. Unmask:- With the helps of this command. we can unmask the mask object and after that object and picture will be separated.

13. Rounded corner:- With the help of this command we change the shape
of draw rectangle and we can also add, move or delete the line segment in a drawn polygon.

14. Polygon setting:- This command is used to change the number of

Edit Menu

4. Paste (Ctrl+V)
5. Paste Special:- With the helps of this command we can paste our

1. Display master items:- With the help of this command we can show or
hide any of the object from the selected page which we have created on master page.

line position.

front or back.

Adobe Table
This option is used to create new table and specify the no of row and column you want. we can also give different style of formatting to creating table and export them in pageMaker.
Cell Menu
1.Group (Ctrl+G):- By this option we can group or merge our two or more than 2 Cell
2. Ungroup (Ctrl+U):- By this option we can ungroup our group cell.
3. Insert row above:- By this option we can insert row above the selected row.

5. Insert column before:- By this option we can insert column before
