What is Adobe Photoshop cc- Essentials?

Adobe Photoshop is hand down the most popular program for creating and modify images for the

web. Photoshop is used to manipulate or enhance digital photographs and to create , original digital

artwork.

Tools

1. Selection Tool:-

This tool is used to select the photo with different tools we do different selection.

     I. Rectangular Marquee Tools(M):- With this tool we can do rectangle shape selection.

    II. Ellipse Marquee Tool(M):- With this we can do ellipse shape selection.

   III. Single Row Marquee Tool:- With this tool we can select pixel row.

   IV. Single Column Marquee Tool:- With this tool we can select pixel column.

2. Free Hand Selection:-

      I. Lasso Tool:- We can make shape like free hand and then do selection.

     II. Polygon Lasso Tool:- This tool also used for selection.

    III. Magnetic Lasso Tool:- We can do selection by snapping.

3. Properties Of Selection Tool:- 

A. New Selection :- With this option we can select only once the object.

B. Add Selection:- With this option we can add new selection to the selected page.

C. Subtract Selection:- With this option we can remove some selection from the current selection.

D. Intersect with selection:- With this option we can take common portion of selection.

E. Feather:- If we give feather value to selected object before copy or cut the corner of the object 

    become smooth.

F. Style:- We can choose the option and then do selection accordingly.

    E.g:- Normal, Fixed ratio, Fixed size

(Q):- How can we paste our selection?
      Steps:-
                  - Choose the selection tool
                  - Type the feather value
                  - Drag the mouse and select the object
                  - Press Ctrl+C to copy the object
                  - Press Ctrl+V to paste the object
(Q):- How can we take new file?
          Steps:-
                  - Click on file menu
                  - Click on new
                  - Give the file name
                  - Choose the file size, colour mode rgb or cmyk
                  - Choose measurement unit, background, resolution
                  - Click on ok

Note:-

A. RGB:- This colour mode used for web designing.

B. CMYL:- This colour mode used for print media.

C. Pixel:- This is used for web designing.

D. Inches, cm:- This is used for print media

E. Resolution:- This is used for print media choose 300 and web designing choose 72

4. Move Tool:-

This tool is used to give transformation alignment etc. to the selected object.

A. Auto select layer:- After switching on this option the object will get automatically selected after

     clicking on its layer.

B. Show transform control:- After switching on this option whenever we click on layer 

     object transform sign would automatically on the object.

C. Align:- We can give alignment to the two selected object.

     I. Horizontal:- Top align, Center align, Bottom align

    II. Vertical:- Left align, Center align, Right align.

5. Magic Wand Tool (W):-

This tool is used to for quick selection and we select all the same colour at once.

A. Tolerance:- Tolerance value is used to change the selection % E.g. If we increase the tolerance 

     value colour resolution would increase for the selected colour.

6. Crop Tool (C):-

This  tool is used to cut the image and we can remove the unwanted material from the photo.

       Steps:-

                     - Select the crop tool

                     - Give resolution for image

                     - Select the crop area

                     - Press enter

7. Slice Tool (K):-

We can do fragmentation of photoshop file and we can use if for creating web page and then we can

apply link in file.

8. Slice Selection Tool:-

We can select the slice applies object.

9. Quick Selection Tool (W):-

We can same colour quickly.

10. Eye Dropper Tool (I):-

We can pick any colour sample.

11. Colour sampler Tool (I):-

We can make the colour sample.

12. Note Tool (I):-

We can give any note. If you want to write something.

13. Count Tool (I):-

We can give numbering on object.

14. Healing Brush Tool:-

We can use healing brush same as clone stamp tool with alt key.

15. Patch Tool:-

We can remove the any part of the image.

    -Steps:-

                   - Click on patch tool

                   - Select the area

                   - Move the cursor location

16. Brush Tool (B):- 

We can give colouring to the selection in photoshop. We can select different style of brush

opacity or colour mode accordingly.

17. Pencil Tool:-

We can give colouring to the selection in photoshop. We can select different style of pencil

opacity or colour mode accordingly.

18. History Brush Tool (Y):-

We can use brush but we can use only white colour in this tool.

19. Art History Brush Tool:-

We can use white colour in brush and we can also use art style in this brush.

20. Clone Stamp Tool:-

This is a very important tool of photoshop, which is used for much purpose. E.g Clean photo

remove the darkness or dark circle, remove pimples or spot, paste the jewellery or cloth of any 

other photo to current the photo.

Clone stamp tool is used to with alt and click and we also set opacity or colour mode.

- Steps:-

                - Click on the place with alt, where you want to clone

                - Choose the opacity or colour mode

                - Now drag the mouse where you want to clone

21. Pattern Stamp Tool:-

We can fill any pattern style to the selection.

- Steps:-

                - Select the area

                - Choose the opacity 

                - Choose the pattern style

                - Fill in a selection with mouse

22. Eraser Tool:-

We can eraser the colour or selected layer.

23. Background Eraser Tool:-

We can eraser or clear the background and make the background transparent.

24. Magic Eraser Tool:-

It is used as magic wand tool but the difference is that magic wand used selection of all the same 

colour where as magic eraser tool to clear the selection.

25. Gradient Tool (G):-

We can fill gradient colour to the object to fill the colour we fill different colour style.

Style:- Diamond, radial, rectangular, conical, linear

(Q):- How to fill the gradient colour?

-Steps

              - Select the area

              - Select the gradient tool

              - Go to property bar

              - Click on ok

              - Draw in selection and fill

26. Paint Bucket Tool:-

This option is used to fill simple colour in selection 

27. Blur Tool:- 

We can blur the image with this tool

28. Sharpen Tool:-

We can give sharpness to the image so that we can see pixel.

29. Smudge Tool:-

This tool is used to expand the colour.

30. Dodge Tool:- 

With this tool we can give brightness to the image by choosing colour.

31. Burn Tool:-

We can give burning effect to the image.

- Steps:-

- Select the burn tool

- Choose colour mode or range

- Drag the mouse where you want to give effect.

32. Path Selection Tool:-

This tool is used to select the shape made by pen tool and also to select the path shape.

33. Direct Selection Tool:-

This tool is used to select nodes and give curving or movement to the node.

34. Direct Selection Tool:-

This tool is used to select nodes and give curving or movement to the node.

35. Pen Tool (P):-

              - Steps:-

                                - Select the pen tool

                                - Click on window menu

                                - Click on path window will get open

                                - Click on path from property bar

                                - Draw the shape

                                - Click on load path as selection 

                                - Fill the colour

                                - Stop selection press Ctrl+D

                                - Delete the path layer

36. Free from Pen Tool:-

This tool is also used to make free hand shape

37. Add Anchor Point Tool:-

This tool is used to add new nodes on shape

38. Delete Anchor Point Tool:-

This tool is used for delete extra node.

39. Convert Point Tool:-

This tool is used to give curving to the nodes

40. Shapes

This tool is used draw the shape.

A. Rectangle

B. Rounded rectangle

C. Ellipse

D. Line

E. Custom Shape:- We can create default shape using custom shape.

41. Zoom Tool (Z):-

This tool is called as zoom tool which is used to magnify or reduce an area of the shape.

42. Hand Tool (H):-

This tool is called hand tool which is used to scroll the page or to preview.

Select Menu

1. Select all (Ctrl+A):- We can select our whole file.
2. Deselect (Ctrl+D):- With the help of this option we can remove selection.
3. Reselect (Shift+Ctrl+D):- This option is used  select again deselected object.
4. Inverse Layer (Shift+Ctrl+I):- It is used for opposite selection.
5. All Layer (Alt+Ctrl+A):- This option is used to select all layer of file.
6. Deselect Layer:- With the help of this we can deselect all selected layer.
7. Similar Layer:- With the help of this option we can select all the layer of same type.
    E.g:- Suppose we have selected text layer and if we click on same layer then we can select all text
    layer of file.
8. Colour Range:- This command is used to select same colour pixel.
9. Modify:- This command is used to give border to the selection .
     A. Border :- With this command we can set the width border for selection.
           - Steps:-
                               - Select the object
                               - Click on select menu
                               - Click on modify
                               - Click on border
                               - Give the border width
                               - Click on ok
                               - Draw taking gradient tool or any colour.

     B. Smooth:- With this option we can round the border corner.
     C. Expand:- With this option we can expand the border width.
     D. Contract:- With the help of this option we can decrease the border width.
     E. Feather (Shift+F6):- This option is used to copy the selected object. After applying feather
          we can give smoothness to the corner or image.
10. Grow:- With the help of this command we can increase selection area.
11. Similar:- With the help of this option we can select all the colour of same type at once.
12. Save Selection:- With the help of this command we can save the current selection . so that
      whenever we need the same selection we can use save selection.
13. Load Selection:- With this command we can use the save selection page.
14. Transform Selection:- With the help of this command we can rotate skew or can change the size
      of selection.

Edit Menu:-

1. Undo (Ctrl+Z)

2. Redo(Shift+Ctrl+Z)

3. Fade (Shift+Ctrl+F):- with this option we can change opacity of pattern texture etc.

4. Cut (Ctrl+X)

5. Copy (Ctrl+C)

6. Paste (Ctrl+P)

7. Paste into (Shift+Ctrl+V):- With the help of this command we can paste the copy object in to the

    Shape of selection.

    - Steps:-

                             - Copy the image after selection 

                             - Select shape which you want

                             - Click on edit menu

                             - Click on paste into

8. Clear:- With the help of this command we can clear the selection.

9. Check Spelling:- With the help of this command we can check the spelling mistake in our 

    open file.

10. Find and Replace:- With the help of this command we can find or replace our any text.

11. Fill (Shift+F5):- With the help of this command we can fill any colour, pattern texture etc.

12. Stroke:- With the help of this command we can give outline to selection.

13. Content Aware fill:- With the help of this command we use any selection tool to select a part 

      of the image you want to fill. 

14. Content Aware scale (Alt+Shift+Ctrl+C):- With the help of this command we can scale 

      the image.

15. Free Transform (Ctrl+T):- With the help of this command we can change the size of image.

16. Transform:- With the help of this option we can give transformation in selected object like

      rotate etc.

17. Define Brush preset:- With the help of this command we can create our new brush style and 

      we can use it.

      -Steps:-

                        - Select the object from image

                        - Click on edit menu

                        - Click ob define brush preset

                        - Give the name

                        - Click on ok

18. Define pattern:- With the help of this command we can create our new pattern style e.g:- Texture.

     - Steps:-

                        - To make pattern select the object from image

                        - Click on edit menu

                        - Click ob define pattern

                        - Type the name and save

                        - Click on ok

19. Define custom shape:- With the help of this tool we can save the shapes made by pen tool we

      can use it from custom shape.

      - Steps:-

                        - Select the pen tool

                        - Create shape

                        - Click on edit menu

                        - Click on define custom shape

                        - Save the shape by giving name.

20. Keyboard shortcuts (Alt+Shift+Ctrl+K):- With the help of this command we can change the

      shortcuts of keyboard.

21. Menu (Alt+Shift+Ctrl+M):- With this command we can give the colour on our 

      selected command.

22. Preferences 

    A. General (Ctrl+K):- With the help of this command we can do general setting.

Layer Menu:-

1. New

A. Layer (Shift+Ctrl+N):- With this command we can insert new layer. Layer is a very useful option

    in photoshop. In photoshop we use different layer. Whenever we insert image or anything 

    new layer would automatically inserted but if we draw any shape we have to insert new layer

    we can insert layer from layer window also. To show or hide the layer window Press F7.

B. Layer from background:- With the help of this command we can convert our background layer 

     in to simple layer and after the we move background layer.

C. Group layer:-  With this command we can create the group for layer and insert the layer in 

     to group by dragging.

D. Group from layer:- With the help of this command we can insert layer folder and our 

     selected layer automatically insert into group.

E. Layer via copy:- With this command we create copy of our selected layer.

2. Delte:-

A. Layer:- With this command we can delete our selected layer.

B. Hidden Layer:- With the help of this command we can delete all hidden layers.

3. Layer Properties:- With the help of this command we can change layer properties like name, colour

    etc.

4. Layer style:- With the help of this command we can give effect to the selected layer. Like Shadow,

    Inner shadow, Outer glow, Inner glow, Bevel and Emboss, Stroke, Colour, Overlay etc.

    All above effect are used to make the text shape layer etc.

    -Steps:- 

                       - Select the layer

                       - Click on layer menu

                       - Click on layer style

                       - Choose the style

                       - Set the effect

                       - Click on ok

A. Copy layer style:- With the help of this command we can copy the layer style.

B. Paste layer style:- With the help of this command we can paste the layer style.

C. Clear layer style:- With the help of this command we can clear the layer style.

D. Global light:- With the help of this command we can change direction of lighting.
E. Create layer:- With the help of this command we can create different object apply in any
     single text or any other object.
F. Hide all effect:- With the help of this command we can hide the style applied on selected layer.
G. Scale effect:- With the help of this command we can change scale of our effect.
5. New fill layer:- With the help of this command we can do filling in our new layer.
6. New adjustment layer:- With the help of this command we can change setting of colour.
    E.g:- Brightness of layer, Contrast, Level etc.
7. Layer mask:- With the help of this command we can give gradient effect to the object.
A. Reveal all:- With the help of this command we can give gradient effect to the object.
B. Reveal selection:- With the help of this command we can hide the selected area and can give
     gradient effect.
C. Hide selection:- With the help of this command we can hide the selected area of image and can
    give gradient effect.
D. Apply:- With the help of this command we can apply only gradient colour effect applied.
E. Disable:- With the help of this command we can hide or disable the mask effect.
F. Unlink:- With the help o this command we can separate image and mask effect.
- Steps:-
- Select the layer
- Select with any selection tool
- Click on layer menu
- Click on layer mask
- Choose the option  e.g Reveal selection , reveal all, hide selection etc.
- Select the gradient tool
- Again click on layer menu
- Click on layer mask then click on apply
- Fill the gradient colour in selected area
8. Crate clipping mask (Alt+Ctrl+G):- With the help of this command we can show on path.
- Steps:-
- Make any shape in first layer
- Insert the image in second layer
- Select the second layer
- Click on layer menu
- Click on create clipping mask.
9. Smart object:- This option is used for web designing.
A. Group in to new smart object layer:- With the help of this command we can change the selected
     Layer in to smart object layer after changing to smart layer object only we can apply other option.
B. Smart object layer via copy:- With the help of this command we can make duplicate copy of
    selected smart object layer.
C. Edit content:- With the help of this command we can give changes in smart object layer we
     use edit.
D. Export content:- With the help of this command we can save the selected smart object layer as
     a file and we can also open that layer differently by open command.
E. Replace content:- With the help of this command we can open another file instead of selected
    object layer.
F. Rasterize:- With the help of this command we can open another file instead of selected object layer.
G. Type:- This option is used on type layer so that we can give text wrap character formatting etc.
